Took Garrett to speech. While there I had to sign paperwork for Mikhail to get evaluated, and set up his first evaluation appt. for “pre-academic” testing. That school had it’s heat off again! And there was a squirrel in the 2nd grade classroom (again). What a mess. It’s supposedly one of the better elementary schools in the area too.
Then, I managed to get home and get the house cleaning done that was on my “to-do” list, plus some as Mikhail peed in his bed last night. Also, got Drew & Tyler to finish their day’s worth of schoolwork. Haven’t had a chance to grade anything or prep for tomorrow’s schoolday. Ah, well, I have to start somewhere.
I had to make an important call today. It was to the author of WriteShop. That was probably the MOST stressful phone call I’ve made in a LONG time.
The UPS man came and sent the dog in fits. (This generally happens because the dog didn’t realize anyone was on the porch till the doorbell rings, and it scares him.) Then, Mikhail had yet another “accident” and wouldn’t let Tyler help him. Tyler decided since Mikhail was being a twit that he could just sit there and scream bloody murder. Drew interupted cause he couldn’t find one of his books and needed it “yesterday”!
Aargh!!! And it’s not like I hadn’t told everyone that I was making this phone call! Maybe that was the fatal flaw.
That said, the author was incredibly helpful. She helped cement certain things in my head, as well as point out some things that I probably should have thought of on my own. Additionally, she gave me “teacher and student” attitude helps. She spent nearly an hour of her time talking to me, through all my crises. That’s something, huh?
Jay started college classes tonight. He’s taking Psych. He just got back and is joining Tyler walking the dog. Guess I’ll find out how it went later. It was so funny, he came in the door and said he lost his cell phone, so we called it immediately. . . It was in his bookbag.
He’s adamant about getting out of the service and going into nursing. That’s all fine, but exactly how are we supposed to live while he’s in school and I’m homeschooling the kids (after he retires)? I finally got him to look at finances with me, and he’s now fully aware of why I’ve been so stressed about this.
It’s rather nice, now that he’s stressing about it, I don’t have to anymore.
We want to redo the little guys room. . .figure that will take about 4 months; need to get that started fairly soon.
I think I’m going to have to do daycare. It’s the only way we can make some money and me still be at home to take care of our kids. If I can start this year we can save all the funds for when he gets out. I would only take the 2 kids just down the street, I couldn’t handle anymore with schooling ours and all. But, it would be between 300-500 / month — all in savings for the next 2+ years.
Gotta hop off now.
