Obsessive?

I didn’t post yesterday because. . .

Well it’s because of this:

 Writing With Ease

It’s gone missing.

 I discovered this yesterday morning.

Yesterday evening, Jay arrived home and commented,  “Holy cow, Christine, what happened here?!”  To be immediately followed by, “Wow, we had a table there?”

Because you see, when I can’t find things, I get aggravated. . .and I start cleaning.  And I can’t seem to focus on much else.

I know I own this book.  I recall reading it.  I remember buying it directly from Peace Hill Press, as soon as it was available.  They even gave me a free companion CD with it — which I have found.

But, the book is MIA.

I have looked in our blanket chests, my piano bench, the secretary, behind radiators, shoe bins, the entertainment center.

I looked beneath couches, and chairs, even tossing cushions.  I am now “richer” by $0.06, half a lego man, and a rubberband.

I’ve gone through the toy chests, the boys’ rooms, the guest room.  I checked the swim baskets, which haven’t seen the light of day since 3 Sept.  I’ve rummaged through closets, stuffed toys, boxes, barrels, and even the “art” room.

And, I’ve gone through the bookshelves.

I now have 5 boxes of books to be taken away.  Books I used for the older two, but decided I didn’t like enough to keep for the younger boys.  Books I’ve held onto because people keep telling me they are so good, but I could just never get into reading; books people have passed onto me, because they couldn’t bear to throw them out themselves; books in foreign languages, but their content is too “mature” for my liking.

And then, I reached the school-room.

I did mention recently that my school room is a disaster area, right???

Well, it still is. . .it’s just got neat piles all over the floor. . .there are only so many hours in a day.  I went through the desk, in and around the sofa, BEHIND the bookcases (found a notebook), and through all the stuff on the floor (making neat piles as I went).

I even called my good friend and asked her if I had loaned it to her (quite sure I hadn’t).  I didn’t.

And that book is STILL missing!

My Amazon page is pulled up and ready for me to hit “purchase”, but I’ve decided to give it one more go today.

So, I’m thinking, I’ll suck it up and take pictures of the school room disaster, and then afterwards take pictures of the school room after.

There is a small side-problem to all this.  I overheard Jay telling the older boys that had he known all it took was for me to miss a book to clean, he might start “swiping” them. . .

I’m looking through his stuff today.

  1. I love the related link title: earthquake preparation lessons. Please come over here… I have been stuffing things back in cupboards for so long that it doesn’t bare thinking of… let alone opening them.

  2. I can deeply relate to this post. That is all I can say. I recently found 2 books I had been looking for for over a year.

  3. I just wanted to share that “I am now “richer” by $0.06, half a lego man, and a rubberband” left me rolling on the floor. Ohhh, have I been there!! You have the knack!!

I put CurrClick as my website in the response form since that’s where you’ll find my “stuff”. I’m in the process of having a new site created, but CurrClick will always be home. Let me know if there’s something from our site on CurrClick that you’d like as a freebie. It’s my way of saying thank you for the chuckle. You are now a part of my favorites. I love your style.
