I wrote about this here, but I get more readers on this blog, so if anyone knows of a US physical map that has all 50 states in their actual geographical locations could you please let me know where I can find it? Google maps probably has the closest thing to what I want, except when you zoom in you get a whole bunch of extra garbage that I don’t need / want (city names, roads, etc.).

I just finished reading:
I’ve never actually read Jane Austen before. I decided to read it after watching this film:
I like to read books after watching movies, rather than the other way round. This particular movie does a fantastic job of holding true to the book.
One thing: Jane Austen can never be accused of too much description. In fact, given her utter lack of descriptions, it amazes me that she was considered such a great writer. My book jacket said that she had a talent for describing the people of that era. People’s actions and motivations, yes; but certainly not their physical characteristics or even their thoughts in too great a depth.
*grin*
Of course, if you were to follow this book:
with Pride and Prejudice, you would probably be greatly relieved. I grew up around red clay, and I can tell you I never in a bazillion years believed it could be described in such monotonous great detail.
I don’t normally get a chance to read for my own pleasure any more — reading books for school takes an immense amount of my time (though, I do enjoy reading those books occassionally, it’s reading of a different sort). However, my family has been sick this past week (just a cold), and curling up under a warm blanket with a hot drink and good book is just what the doctor ordered.
Problem is, my family is finally coming out of the doldrums, and the weather has turned utterly foul. Two days of rain, and cold temps and, according to the long-range weather forcast, we can expect another 5 of the same.
