Jay had an appointment yesterday that left him having to “digest”.
You see he’s been having problems with his ankle for almost a year, and has finally managed to get in to a specialist.
Who, essentially, told him he needs surgery.
Jay has a bone bit floating around causing all sorts of hari-kari in his ankle joint. He also has a number of ripped / torn ligaments / tendons. (Which may or may not have been caused by the bone fragment.)
So, Jay will have surgery (hopefully the 1st week of June) and then be in a cast for 4-6 weeks, followed by an immobilizer for another 4-6 weeks. Which is the complete summer.
He’s seriously struggling with this as he was planning on doing all sort of home things this summer. It also means he won’t be able to work. According to the doctor he will really need to just stay off his feet.
I tried to make him feel better by informing him he could go to the pool everyday and enjoy some time off with the boys. . .
Course, with a cast he wouldn’t be able to actually get into the pool. But, he could be there with them and I could be here getting all sorts of work done. . .He never sees it that way though. I mean, he never sees things that benefit me; instead focusing on things that are hindering him.
Ah well, I’m sure it will all work out in the end.
