Jay and Drew went grocery shopping for me again. I’m seriously liking this!
Garrett and Mikhail did two lessons of math again. I’m seeing improvement on Mikhail’s place value knowledge, but he still seems somewhat “vague” on it. (For example, if he sees “123” he can tell you the proper place values, but if he sees “5” he couldn’t tell you if that is in the one’s place or the ten’s.) More work is needed, obviously. We started introducing rulers (standard measurement) too.
Then we did two reading selections. Noticed that we need to work on enunciation. Both boys are dropping the final consonant in many words and are rather “soft” on any hard consonant. Their actual reading, though, is getting better.
Went to the pool this afternoon, but it was cool so everyone stayed out of the pool and played ball games. Well, everyone that is, except Garrett who stayed out until 5 minutes before we were supposed to leave.
Tyler has been spending a lot of time reading because I have not gotten around to fixing his summer schedule. For even though we do school year-round, the summer is not as intense as the rest of the year. I need to get to that.
