Day 11 — kitchen remodel

Today was rather unexciting; at least, in the realm for showing progress for pictures.

However, I do not believe it was so for the poor man who spent over 8 hours on our electrical panel.

Many of you may not know that our house was built-in the 1920s.  It’s an old house, and it certainly has character!

But, what many don’t think about when they think of an older house, is all the little things that occur over time to adapt.  And, what an entirely different thing it is between 1920’s power usage and 2011’s!

Now, the top panel had a cover too, but when I realized that this was going to be the extent of the day’s work, I asked the electrician to give me a minute.

It is entirely possible, the electrician thinks I’m completely nuts now!  (I did notice he always spoke to me gently. . .)

The poor guy spent eight hours of his life battling this chaos, whilst dealing with a low-hanging ceiling pipe directly behind him.  Apparently, there’s a lot of tugging involved in electrical panels, and that particular pipe may or may not be displaying chunks of the electrician’s scalp.

However, the end result is very “pretty”.
